Cloud connectors: Google Drive and Dropbox
My Files next to the cloud storage you already have: one «Flowra» folder on both sides, syncing with clear limits, a 21-day trash, and no file ever deleted from your cloud.

What this is wired to
Which services
Two clouds are live today: Google Drive and Dropbox. OneDrive (with personal and Microsoft 365 accounts), iCloud Drive and Nextcloud are coming soon and only have Notify me. The My Files connectors page (/settings/media/connect) opens from the Connectors row in the My Files side column, from the Connect cloud services button in Storage use, and from the connectors hub.
The banner at the top states the rule in one go: whatever you put in the «Flowra» folder, here or there, travels to the other side with the next sync, and a file you delete in the service goes to the trash here. If the operator has not registered a service's keys or has switched it off, its card says Unavailable.
Connecting with OAuth
Connect is a real OAuth round trip: Flowra sends you to Google's or Dropbox's consent screen, you sign in there and approve the access, and the service sends you back to this page. Your account password never reaches Flowra. A connection request is valid for fifteen minutes; if you come back later, you see that the connection timed out and try again.
Once you are back, a «Flowra» folder is created on both sides and the first sync runs right away. If that sync does not finish, the connection stays and the page says the first sync was left incomplete; if the service refuses the connection, the service's own reply is shown at the top of the page.
- In My Files connectors, tap Google Drive or Dropbox
- In the sheet, press Connect
- Sign in on the service's page and approve the access
- You come back to Flowra; a «Flowra» folder is created on both sides
- The first sync runs and the card turns Connected
One folder, not the whole drive
There is no folder picker, on purpose: only the «Flowra» folder syncs, on both sides. In Drive or Dropbox it is simply called «Flowra», because that is your own space. In My Files each connection gets its own separate folder, «Flowra · Google Drive» and «Flowra · Dropbox», so every file's origin is clear and each folder mirrors exactly one destination. The Flowra folder in My Files, in a connected connector's sheet, goes straight to that folder.
Whatever you put in this folder, in My Files or in the service, travels to the other side with the next sync. Files outside this folder, on either side, are never seen or moved.
Two-way or upload only
Dropbox is two-way: the Dropbox app sees everything in its folder, whoever put it there. Google Drive depends on the access the operator chose. With the limited access (the default), Drive only shows the files Flowra itself created, so My Files goes up to Drive but a file you put in Drive yourself does not come back. Full Drive access makes it two-way, but Google classes it as restricted, and outside test users it needs Google's verification.
A connected card says plainly whether your link is Two-way or Upload only, and how many files it has synced. Changing the Drive access for an existing link means disconnecting and connecting once.
Syncing: when and how
Syncing runs at three moments: right when you connect, with the Sync now button on the card, and when you open My Files, at most once a minute. There is no background worker, which is why the card shows Last sync instead of pretending everything is instant. Each run reports its result: how many new files came from the service, how many were sent and how many went to the trash.
Flowra works with pairs, not clocks: for every file it records which local file is which remote file, so new and changed are answered from a stored revision. A file larger than 100 MB does not travel. A single file failing, such as a full account or a name the service refused, is counted with its reason kept, and the other files still travel. Each connection runs only one sync at a time.
Deleting, only as far as the trash
A file deleted in Drive or Dropbox goes to the trash in My Files and can be restored for 21 days; it is not deleted for good, because one wrong listing must never be able to destroy the only copy of a file. Nothing travels the other way: Flowra never deletes a file from your cloud.
A file that went to the trash in My Files does not come back from the service with the next sync; its pairing is removed along with it.
Access, privacy and keys
Every connector's sheet has one plain sentence: Flowra sees only the «Flowra» folder in that service and deletes no file from it. The connection keys (including the refresh key, a standing key to someone's whole cloud) are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and no route in Flowra ever returns them. Without an encryption key on the server, a connection is not accepted at all; there is no plain-text fallback.
Files that come from the service are stored privately like every other My Files file and only open with permission. My Files is not yet reachable to your AI through MCP.
Disconnecting and connecting again
Disconnect only removes the link between the two sides: the files stay put, both in My Files and in the cloud, and the page says so. If you connect again, files with the same name and size on both sides are paired up again, so no duplicate is made. Google's refresh key is not wiped on a reconnect either.
Storage and quota
A file that comes from Drive or Dropbox is a real file in My Files, so it counts towards your storage like any other upload; so do files in the trash until they are finally purged. Your plan sets the ceiling (Free 2 GB, Plus 50, Prime 200) unless the operator has set another figure for your account.
Storage use in My Files shows how much room each format takes, the largest first, and the Connect cloud services button is right there. If your storage fills up, your files stay and only new uploads are refused.
Docs from Drive and OneDrive: coming soon
Bringing documents into Docs is not built yet: Google Drive (document folders as knowledge pages), Google Docs (with headings, lists and tables), Microsoft OneDrive (Word documents), SharePoint and Dropbox Paper are all coming soon in the knowledge connectors. Each one's sheet lists the future steps: choose the destination workspace, choose folders or pages, match members and transfer.
Today these cards only have Notify me, and no data is read from those services. Until then, bring the files you have in Drive or Dropbox into My Files through the «Flowra» folder.
Calendar and meetings, briefly
Google Calendar is a cloud connector too, but it moves no files: it creates a separate «Flowra» calendar and writes only dated actions and meetings into it. Google Meet takes its links from that same connection, and Zoom has its own. The details of these and every other area are in the connectors guide.
On a phone
The My Files connectors page is complete on a phone: the cards go to one column, each connector's sheet opens from the bottom of the screen, and Back to My Files sits at the top of the page. The OAuth round trip is the same on a phone, and opening My Files on a phone also starts the automatic sync.
